“What is pipe?” – Pipe is a cylindrical shaped hollow tubular structure which extends longitudinally. The round cross-section of pipe is hollow for the purpose so that it can allow conveyance of products flowing within it.

Primary purpose of a pipe is to carry the content flowing within, from one position to other. Pipes allows conveyance of content like – liquids, gasses, small solids or semi- solids, slurries, liquid gases, etc through it. Certain solid content can also be transferred with application of external force acting on them like gravity, hydraulics, extensions, air pressure guns, etc.

Pipes are applicable where there is demand for transport of various products from place A to place B in a leak-proof, smooth, damage-proof, contamination-proof manner protecting it from external environments. Pipes are generally used to transport products to longer distance and hence are used in series in piping system.
